How the Vehicle Delivery System Works

1. Vessel Discharge & Manifest Ingestion
When a car carrier vessel berths at the Port of Dar es Salaam, cargo manifests are ingested via Excel/CSV. Every vehicle identification number (VIN) is registered with initial status manifested.
2. Quayside Physical Tally & Barcode Scan
Tally marshals perform visual inspections and scan windshield barcodes on the holding ground. Verified units are updated in real-time to status present_at_tpa.
3. Convoy Batching & Driver Pairing
Verified chassis are grouped into batches according to destination Inland Container Depots and assigned to vetted registered drivers for secure convoy transport.
4. TPA Gate-Out & Delivery Notes
TPA port exit security verifies authorized vehicles, generates electronic Delivery Notes (DN), and updates vehicle status to transit.
5. Live Transit Telemetry & SLA Tracking
Real-time GPS telemetry tracks driver velocity along the Port-to-ICD corridor, enforcing transit time limits with active SLA countdown monitoring and delay alerts.
6. ICD Gate-In & Yard Slotting Handover
Upon arrival at the destination Dry Port (ICD), officers confirm gate entry, close the Delivery Note, and allocate dedicated yard bay parking slots with status updated to arrived_at_icd.
